On Boys & Motivation

Help (& support) for stressed out parents
2

One of the (very many!) things that I learned parenting 4 sons is that lack of motivation is VERY COMMON among tween & teenage boys.

VERY common. As in, you are almost certainly not the only parent in your friend group or neighborhood who is currently worried about your son’s lack of apparent concern for his homework, future, or chores.

In fact, parental concerns about boys’ motivation are so common that Janet Allison & I just recorded 3 short ON BOYS podcast episodes about boys & motivation. The first one, Boost Boys’ Motivation, dropped today. (#2 goes live next Thurs; #3, the Thursday after that.)

The above video is an excerpt of that conversation.

We’ll be sharing much more in Boost Boys’ Motivation: How to Ignite His Spark (Without Nagging or Yelling), our 3-session interactive class designed specifically for parents of tween & teen boys. We offered this class for the first time last year & the response was so positive that we knew we had to do it again.

This year’s class kicks off on Tuesday May 6. (If you can’t join us live, that’s okay — we send a replay of the live sessions to all registrants, so we can watch whenever’s convenient for you.) Use the coupon code ONBOYS to save $50.

We’d love to have you join us — interacting with parents in real time & facilitating real conversation among parents is one of my favorite things.

Whether you join us or not, know this: It’s not you; it’s him. Motivational challenges are part of boys’ development.

Here’s to building boys!
